Chamber Jazz add double bass to make a trio

Charlie Hearnshaw Trio at Lower Godney on The Somerset Levels 2009

The Nearnness Of You, by Hoagy Carmichael, 1938

On this occasion in we were joined by Mike Thorn on double bass.

The trio has a fuller sound. It takes up a bit more stage real estate than the duo but as you can see, the trio can still play in a fairly small space.

Our duo has a large repertoire: the double bass can play on most of our tunes

It's not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me, oh no
It's just the nearness of you

It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation, oh no
It's just the nearness of you
