I have been teaching clarinet & sax at Kings College, Taunton for about twenty year and for a few years at Exeter University and Dartington College.

Plus, of course, a very long time working as a professional musician and composer.

I also offer various music workshops.

I offer individual lessons in

fees for individual lessons at my house
20 minutes £12.50
30 minutes £16.50
40 minutes £22.00
60 minutes £33.00

Lessons at your home, within a ten mile radius of Uffculme, would incur an additional fee of £10.00 to cover travel costs and travel time.

beginner's clarinet hire scheme
If you would like to try clarinet without the expense of buying an instument of your own, you may hire a clarinet from me for a couple of terms.

The hire fee is £12.00 per calender month.
In addition you will need to buy your own reeds.

your first lesson
The first step is probably to give me a ring and discuss what area of music you are most interested in: I will tell you if I can help.

You might wish to book a one-off lesson to begin with to see if you like it. After the lesson go home, work on ideas I have put forward. Get back to me if you would like more help.

Lessons can be on a regular weekly basis, which is undoubtedly best for youngsters.
Mature, self-motivated students may be happy with irregular lessons.

Either way, there is nothing like a lesson looming up to get you working hard at your instrument.
