The core of this band's repertoire is swinging Goodman, peppered with a few early jazz pieces and some original latin and swing tunes.
Charlie is not trying to imitate Goodman; instead he puts his own stamp on some of the great tunes that his hero played and mixes them with some of his own to provide a balanced set with a wide appeal.
Repertoire includes...
~ Tunes by Benny Goodman.
~ Charlie's compositions
~ Tunes by other bands Goodman played with.
There is a lot of variety; people who love jazz but are not necessarily crazy about Goodman can still enjoy the concert.

The band usually plays as quintet,
- clarinet
- vibes
- guitar/vocals
- double bass
-
drums
The fabulous transluscent tone colours of the vibes really help create the Goodman small band sound.
Clarinet and vibes complement each other splendidly yet these days you seldom hear them together
Our vibes player, Graham Pinkney, appears to know most of the Goodman repertoire by heart. Like Lionel Hampton, Graham began his musical life as a drummer.
