If there is plenty of water in the leat, most of our machines are driven by the water wheel.

If the water level is low, for example during a hot summer, there may not be enough water to power the machines.

When there is a shortage of water we use electricity instead.

Our electricity is currently from the national grid but there are plans afoot to generate electricity at the mill using water power.
