The Machines of the Imagination workshop fulfills many of the aims set out in the national curriculum for allkey stages. The program of study of music includes using voice and musical instruments, composition, improvisation and learning to listen.

Here are some ways in which our Machines of the Imagination workshop complies with the national curriculum for music

listening
We will listen to machine sounds and to the sounds around us in an analytical way.

composition
one of the main objectives of the workshop is to compose music

improvisation is at the core of the day of music- making

voice
we will sing and also use the voice to immitate machine sounds as part of our compositions.

play a musical instrument
we will use percussion instruments to create our composition.
Pupils are encouraged to bring their own instruments too; flute, clarinet, violin, guitar etc
